As the interest in migration has increased over the years, the IELTS examination is becoming more popular with the maximum number of test centers among different countries. Before sitting in the exam, it is really important to understand the marking criteria properly to achieve the desired score.

Furthermore, IELTS is a multilevel examination that can score on your English skills from a 1 to a 9 band score depending on your responses. For IELTS general and academic, the band scores are quite different for a few modules. Here is the list of all the areas based on which IELTS does its marking, and you need to understand that properly for different modules to achieve the higher band score.

In both of these modules, you are required to answer the 40 questions, and then you have a marked band score from 1 to 9 based on your correct answers. For instance, 9 bands is the highest score you can achieve with a raw score of 39 – 40, and 30-32 raw score will count as 7 bands. However, for most of the countries like Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, universities require students to have a band score of 6 or 6.5 in each module. (Please check with your university before applying).
