    What is NAATI?

    NAATI is an English proficiency test where an individual's understanding of the English language is tested. This exam is given by those candidates who want to migrate for work or studies in the counties where English is considered their native language.

    NAATI consist of 4 sections which include: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. In the NAATI test, candidates are marked between the score of 1 to 9. For migrating to any country, you are required to have a minimum overall score of 5 points. NAATI tests are conducted by two bodies which are IDP and British Council.

    What categories of NAATI Test?

    NAATI consists of two different categories, which is NAATI Academic and NAATI General. NAATI Academic is designed for those candidates who want to migrate to counties for studies where English is considered their native language. The NAATI academic test is designed to understand how a candidate's understanding of the English language is tasted and seen if the candidate will be able to settle in that country.

    NAATI General Training is for aspirants looking to migrate to New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the US, and the UK or applying for secondary education, training programs, and work experience in an English-speaking environment. Here the examination focuses on the basic survival skills of a candidate in a broad social and workplace environment.

    Types of NAATI test: Computes-based and Paper Based

    • NAATI exam can be taken in two ways: one is Online which is on a computer, and the other is an offline paper-based test. Now you will be wondering what the difference between these two tests is?
    • The main and the noticeable difference is in computer-based PTE tests, you get to write through a keyboard, and in offline tests, you get a pencil.
    • The order of the test is different. In Australia and New Zealand, the paper-based PTE starts with Writing, then Reading, and Listening. Sometimes you do your Speaking straight after this. But other test centres may offer your Speaking test on a different day. The Computer-delivered PTE starts with Listening, followed by Reading, Writing. The Speaking test takes place on the same day, either before or after your computer test.
    • The listening test is a shooter in an online PTE exam compared to the offline exam. As in the offline exam, you get extra 10 minutes in the listening test to transfer your answer to the main sheet.
    • You get headphones in the PTE online exam for the listening test and your computer.
