NAATI CCL mock test — frequently asked questions

NAATI CCL (Credentialled Community Language) is a credential issued by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI). Passing it earns you 5 bonus points added to your Australian skilled migration points score on top of your PTE/IELTS English language points. It is not a general English test — it tests your ability to interpret in a community language.
NAATI CCL is currently available in 11 languages: Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Sinhalese, Nepali, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Urdu and Arabic. One Australia Group offers coaching in all 11 languages at our Melbourne campuses and online.
The pass mark is 63 out of 90. Each of the two dialogue segments is worth 45 marks. You need a combined score of 63+ (across both segments) and a minimum of 29 out of 45 in each individual segment.
Passing NAATI CCL adds 5 bonus points to your Australian skilled migration score — on top of your PTE or IELTS English language points. Combined with a PTE 79+ score (20 points), NAATI CCL brings your English-related points total to 25.
Yes — you need a reasonable level of English to interpret between English and your community language. Specifically, you need at least Competent English (roughly PTE 50+ or IELTS 6.0 in each skill) as a prerequisite to sit the NAATI CCL test.
